MP5 Stock?
Pretty much what the title says. Is it possible that the devs might add a stock for the MP5? :D

Be cool if they did the PDW stock as an add for recoil reduction, not that it's needed (in the game anyway).

I'd like to see it. +1 or +2 supply points. Hell yes.

Press the modders in the workshop long enough and somone will make one.

Or, consider that it might be more realistic (pardon my French, i know that word is abborhant to use here) if it would have a stock in the first place.

Modern Warfare 3's MP5 has the stock and a barrel to speak of--yes yes I know it's CoD--but that is how I think it ought to be in Insurgency.

And don't make any mistakes--I'm not a super CoD fanboy who wants Insurgency to turn into CoD. I'm just saying, thar's a game that FINALLY has a full length MP5 and THAT would be nice to see here. Not to mention in movies and such it seems like it's always the pee wee version of it.

The MP5K is not the MP5A4. They only share some parts. While they can be generally classified as PDW's or SMG's, the MP5K fits more closely with what you would call a PDW and the MP5A4 closer to the description of the classic SMG. One is meant to be shouldered and fired in a stable stance enhanced with it's low recoil due to the 9mm round, the other is meant to be held in the hands and to be concealeable and compact. The MP5K is little more than an upgrade from a sidearm, holds a few more pistol rounds in a 20rd mag, and fires in full auto better than say a Glock 18 because it has a foregrip and more heft than any pistol would.

By the way it's been talked about long ago how lots of people just wanted the MP5A4 or similar MP5 variants with a stock in the game instead of the MP5K. Nothing came of it. 'We have the UMP already' was the basis of the counter-argument to that.

Of course the MP5K is not the MP5A4 lol. And I am relatively knowledgable about the MP5. But thanks.

I just figure, that if you're going to have the MP5 in, why make it the concealable version, if you're clearly not trying to conceal anything in the game? You're wearing military-style uniforms or gear anyways. The only possible advantage (well more or less) of the K is that it is the most easily concealable MP5, and probably one of the most concealable weapons of its type. Some pistols would obviously be the most concealable in general.

Yeah I figured that's what the counter argument would be. I mean if anything I suppose it could just be an aesthetic change.

the ViP in Ambush should have the mp5k. Although its easily the most effective gun in the game considering most of INS takes place in under 50m and any CQB its unmatched in.

And yeah the UMP45, which is also made by H&K sort of takes the place of the A4 or even more the A2/10.
And not that I like to compare, but if anyone remembers mw2, ump45 w/ silencer = absurd... If you havent tried it its the same in INS.

Had an MP5K (yes the class 3/NFA version). I challenge anybody to hit center torso or head only with this weapon at 50m. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. It is a very good weapon at 10m on full auto (muzzle climb is a bit extreme) and easily as accurate as any handgun on semi. "Most Effective," hardly. The side folding PDW stock that was made for this weapon in the 90's was a huge upgrade. The MP5A4 with the Navy 3 position selector (semi, burst, auto) is a better (and actually commonly issued) weapon.

I was speaking in the game as far as weapon performance goes. Because you can tag people with short bursts very easy from a long way away. peak and some parts of sinjar are literally the only maps ive found it out of range. So then ill use the UMP45 or just focus on flanking and getting up close anyway.

I don't see what's wrong with making it have a stock even if it was just for aesthetics. It just makes sense for a game that is *brace thyself* supposed to be more realistic.

I mean even CoD, bane of the world, has a full length MP5 in MW3. Not sure its performance really changed from how it was in MW2 or Black Ops, but the aesthetics did, and it just made sense.

I agree with you Vikingr and that is why I mention this.

I just think the MP5A4 is more logical for the game because it was issued to CQB teams, SF, pilots and medics. The MP5K was used by contractors and DSS (Diplomatic Security Service) but I never saw one during deployment. The gun in game actually functions like an MP5A4 (except that its missing triburst option), all they need is a new skin. The "K" would have a MUCH GREATER muzzle climb and doesn't seem (by ammo expenditure) to have a rate of fire north of 900 rpm.

Yeah what I was thinking was that the MP5K would make more sense for undercover/low profile security teams in Iraq (watched something on Green Berets who, some of the time, would have to go plainclothes in civilian vehicles instead of gearing up normally, if they were transporting a VIP.

But if you're running around with tac vests, helmets, and fatigues like in game, not to mention having others in the squad with big SAWs and M16s and stuff...you're not trying to hide anything.

P90 has displaced almost all SMG's in Exec Protect roles. Started with the Secret Service, then DSS, and so on and so on. I remember testing an SBR (short barrel rifle) P90 as our Armored Car Company (I worked for them part-time for nearly a decade) began searching for a replacement for our shotguns. It penetrated NIJ Level 2 body armor with HORRIFYING EASE out to 100m. It was shortly thereafter that BATF banned the solid core FMJ as "armor piercing." It was also as easy as a .22 to shoot.
