I've paid money for this game and can't even start it without it crashing at start up. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game and have been waiting a long time to play this game.
At the moment there are a lot of users trying to play this game with problems being experienced and nada from the company who developed it. Very unsatisfactory.
This has managed to screw up both the original game as well as the new game.
Updated:
When I disable Steam Overlay game runs fine (http://www.ehow.com/how_10004514_disable-steam-overlay.html).
Clicking 'Play' for Unwritten Tales shows the 'Preparing to launch' dialog but then nothing happens.
Tried Find dxdiag.txt in Dolphin, but reports "No items found".
Tried disabling the Steam overlay as per suggestion above but that made no difference.
How do I get this game to run? I paid good money for it after all.
steam steam://store
then navigate to Library and run game. It should output some stuff in terminal. If there will be problem related with steam itself (like in my case) you probably see some errors.
First of all, as a 36 year-old cyber-adventurer, I thank you so much for still holding on in this world of MMORPGs, Multiplayer frenzies and multi hundred million dollar cost first person shooters. You still can make the people laugh hard with the stories you create.
Therefore I will always look for other Nordic Games and buy them with enthusiasm, whatever problem arises. You're doing a good job and it needs support in this world of games.
Now, I have a detailed crash report but this comment screen only allows 1000 characters, therefore it is impossible for me to submit this here. Kindly give me another destination to send this report to.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The crash is for Critter Chronicles. The title screens come up, the menu comes up (sometimes only with "Continue Game" written Load Game, Save Game etc. do not appear, especially when running on PC, not Mac) Then I click on Continue Game (I am in Chapter 4) the chapter loads fully and after 100% the game crashes (the PC or Mac does not crash, only the game and I have the below report from my Mac)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 2 : This crash started to happen AFTER the last BIG Steam Update. Before that, I observed NO crashes. I have de-installed and re-installed the game both in Mac and PC but the problem is not resolved.
I hope you come up with a solution, as fast as possible.
Kind Regards and Good Luck,
Idris
