Game crashed and won't start up again - Mac

I was able to play up to and get around the salt shaker crash, but then my game crashed a few scenes later. Now I can't open the game at all without it crashing even after reinstalling the game. It won't even work on my Windows 8 partition. I just want to be able to play this game, and not to have wasted my money. Has anyone else run into this problem?
