LOST MY SAVED GAME !?

after monthes (and some updates) i tried to play my saved game again today... but it seems that i have lost 6 hours of gameplay (with twins, time traveller and monk) because the game starts at the beginning and there is no way to start my saved game... :/ HELP PLEASE, is there anyone who have an idea to get my game back...!??!?!

I think I have the same problem, I played yesterday with the same characters as DocJones right until the mine cart part and now I wanted to continue but if I select resume game It goes to the character selection. I'm running the Linux version.

Edit: It appears to be steam cloud related. ~/.local/share/doublefine/thecave/auto.sav contained strings minecart related but thecave/<someID>/auto.sav did not. So I made a backup of the thecave/ folder, disabled steam cloud and copied thecave/auto.sav into thecave/<someID>/ overwriting the other one. Now it loads at the correct position.

Edit2: You also have to copy the other files or unlocked images won't show up.
