Finally got a better PC for this
OK so I have to admit I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to PC's and I love to re-purpose them when I can. I usually work my way towards Linux as the PC's age starts to show. I finally caved and got a different PC to play Rocksmith on. It's nothing exciting but is a quad core with decent memory and now.... wait for it.... I can actually play the videos in the lessons without all that distortion. - Guess who's going to be revisiting the lessons? <---- This guy!.

This is not a question, just a recognition that the better the PC you play on, the more likely you are to have a satisfying outcome. I have only played on it for a short time but I am hopefully that clean tone bug will cease and desist. So far it's all good. Yay me!

Grats ianj001! I am setting up on a new laptop just now since the old one crashed... So, Umm, where is that setup doc again? LOL. just kidding, I know where it is.

Thanks, I hope yours went well. I just logged in to Steam and let it download everything. I installed both RS2014 and RS on there, all my DLC and setting came with it. - I have been loving being able to use the lessons ;-)

Yeah, the install went great!.... Glad to hear you can now do the lessons. I didn't have a problem with the lessons before, but I did have to downgrade the settings in RS and play in window mode... Now I can play in Full Screen with no modifications! Woo Hoo!.

I had to you use windowed mode before, now I am in full screen mode again too!

That's great! I would honestly always tell people that games like these are much better played on PC due to the community offering up much more than the console counterparts due to far less limitations.

Out of curiosity, what are you using for graphics?
