Steam for Linux

Option to disable Steam window opening on start and not display all on-line friends
Steam can be set to auto-start when the system starts, but I'd like to have the option of it opening in the background and not opening its main window.

Also its Really annoying having all my only friends who are in-game popup, often there's a lot of them. And there's no way to cancel it. (This is more of an issue on windows where the popups block the task-tray area)

The Valve GitHub issue tracker (under Feature Requests) would be a good place to post your suggestion also:

Cheers

Right now it's not even possible to have Steam running without a window open in the first place. People have been asking for that; I'm not sure what happened.
