Yay! it fixed the segmentation fault with big picture in my case. Thanks for sharing, it's not even published in the site yet :)
I just tried it out with TF2 and performance is *still* ♥♥♥♥.
AMD had months to work on this and there's still pretty much the same performance issues.

Just installed 13.2-beta6 (x86_6), fixed bigpicture for me, and my games are still running :-)

@SolidSteel

Do you have got Tearfree enabled? That's a real performance killer...

@Kano, also disabled it. Why can't those drivers just buffer the output frame, and display it on vsync, while the actual application continues rendering the next frames already...

It's disabled.

What does fglrx show? Is it showing:
$ fglrxinfo display: :0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon HD 5670 OpenGL version string: 4.2.12172 Compatibility Profile Context 12.10.17
The number right of context is basically the number of the first installed driver if you did not reset the settings. For KDM i use:
sudo screen sh -c '/etc/init.d/kdm stop;sleep 5;rmmod fglrx;rm -f /etc/ati/amdpcsdb;/etc/init.d/kdm start'
Should work with lightdm as well, but did not try it:
sudo screen sh -c '/etc/init.d/lightdm stop;sleep 5;rmmod fglrx;rm -f /etc/ati/amdpcsdb;/etc/init.d/lightdm start'

Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst™ 13.2 Beta Driver for Linux [370839]: Resolves a sporadic Steam Big Picture mode crashing issue encountered with AMD Radeon™ HD 7000, 6000 Series
Seriously AMD? There's only HD7000 and 6000 cards? Why even bother making drivers to older series?
That's just sad.

I just tried opening big picture mode and steam tells me to install latest beta driver.
(hd570)
I will try this.

I have hd5770. I thought it was strange too that 6000 and 7000 series were singled out but beta 13.2.6 has fixed big picture mode crash for me.

Still experience the same performance issues in TF2 with my "Sapphire HD 7750 Ultimate" on Ubuntu 12.10.

Serious Sam even refuses to start with the beta driver.
OpenGL performance overall (Team Fortress 2, Unigine Heaven, Steam BigPicture) is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible with frame drops and input lag right now with my HD 6870.

A noticed some pretty curious thing when I was changing the resolution at big picture.
I got a message saying I have only ~257MB VRAM (the value shown was in KB) and because of that, big picture's preformance may be low. (and it was)
Note: I have a HD5770 (1GB)
Do these drivers include the watermark beta thing?
