Frozen Synapse In-Game Steam Overlay / No mouse input

Frozen Synapse refuses to have mouse input with the steam overlay enabled.
Mouse keeps stuck in the upper left corner with Overlay enabled, yet it is possible to use the Steam in game overlay.
Game itself works perfectly without Steam In-Game overlay.
The default window/game settings have been used.
