CS:S / TF2 not using alternate library folder

My system is set up so that my /opt directory is on a separate partition (on its own physical HDD) and I put all my games in there because my /home partition isn't big enough.

The latest Steam update messed up a lot of users installations and a fix was to delete everything expect the SteamApps folder and let steam reinstall itself. I re-added my SteamApps folder in my /opt as an alternate library and all my games except the two mentioned were reinstated in my games list. CS:S and TF2 are greyed out as if they were not installed, even though they are, but when I go to install them I don't get the menu to choose which library folder they'll install to. Proceeding makes them install to the default Steam library folder in my /home.

All other games seem ok and even the TF2 beta shows the library location menu.

Currently you can't pick where to install CS:S or TF2, this is the same across platforms, Valve are working to update them to use SteamPipe, which will allow you to change the install location and should also increase loading times. TF2 Beta was recently updated to use SteamPipe, so that's why you can change the install location.

Ah, I see. I have heard of SteamPipe but didn't know about this. Thanks for clearing it up :)
