Profiles for Source engine games like Low/High/Highest via commandline
For benchmarks it is very annoying when you have to compare every setting (i know it is stored in the csv result file). It would be much simpler when you could specify an option and defaults are used which are the same everywhere. When L4D2 comes out i want to do some crossplattform benchmarks, this would help much.

Probably it would take about 15-30 minutes to write a launcher that edits the config files and runs the game. Having read your posts for a while, I'd be surprised if you couldn't do it.

I already wrote a launcher but that takes ages for Source engine games. Especially TF2 is extremely slow. The problem is that you have to track lots of settings and there are no profiles. Of course I could create 1 or 2 default config files and replace those but thats not what I want if there are better possibilities.

steam://run/440 -exec ultra_mega_high.cfg
steam://run/440 -exec hyper_poorest_low.cfg
Why not?

Use -dev -toconsole and +cl_preload 0 cli opts. to launch source games faster.
