windows wont be able to overwrite the boot partition/mbr (sin ce that drive is disconnected) and so you wont loose grub
for wine you can always check the wine appdb, if the app is not mentioned there then all bets are off, if the app is mentionend then at least you can have an educated bet
You would need to do steps 7 & 8 although the commands for these steps may be slightly different depending on distro and grub version. For example on my system Fedora 17 with grub 2 it would be for step 7:
http://appdb.winehq.org/ is an excelent place to search for wine compatibility, hacks and workarounds. http://www.playonlinux.com/en/ is also a very nice tool that does specific tunnings in wine to best play some games under it.
Just confirming if anyone else had maybe run into an article or discussion regarding fc3.
Fazer, I think this move from Steam has started a revolution .. if one could call it that. The nix community have started playing all these free games because they were unwilling to pay so much for the simple use of a platform to run games on. As for steam being successful on Linux ... watch this space. If a game has been ported with issues and glitches, the community will help fix, just like they have helped develop drivers, iron out some glitches in software etc.
I have pre-purchased my copy of FC3, will check if I can figure something out ...
