Difference between AMD catalyst 13.8 and the openGL4.3 driver.
I got an reply on the amd forum, and this is it:

Linux 13.8 Beta = 13.8 Beta drivers with OpenGL 4.2 files
OpenGL 4.3 Beta = 13.8 Beta drivers with OpenGL 4.3 files

The OpenGL 4.3 might not be ideal for users of certain OpenGL programs, so they split the two up until the next release, ensuring that newer drivers for display was available for OpenGL 4.2 users, and that the OpenGL 4.3 compatibility was available for those who want it. Basically the OpenGL is a slightly newer release, since it has 13.8 plus newer OpenGL.

I asume that for us gamers, the 13.8 beta is the right choice.
I did not notice any difference between the two with serious sam 3 though.

Both drivers solved all the issues I (and others) had with SS3 bfe.

Left for Dead 2 does not run that great yet though.

AMD phenom II X4 @ 3.2 ghz HD5750.

Not very much games use OpenGL 4.3 anyway. Most use 3.0 like Source games and SS3 it's equivalent to Direct3D 10. While 4.3 is more like Direct3D 11. The newest OpenGL implementation is 4.4 which was released a few weeks a go. NVIDIA released a 4.4 driver just a few days later, while AMD caught up with the 1 year old 4.3 implemenation just now.

Yeah maybe people who run maya, have an advantage when using the openGL 4.3 beta.
Or developers.
