I personally use it and am happy with it. I have the same request and think it's doable…

So install Steam under Wine. Problem solved.

I use Wine too, for other games like PoE, EVE, Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. But I don't like the idea of Wine being added as an alternative in the native Steam for Linux client. The reason for this has been, like I said, discussed a million times on these forums already.

Does PoE work for you good enough without scarificing image quality? My dream would be to have PoE on Steam with a Linux port. Don't think it will ever happen not even for the Windows version.

If you look back you'll find 2-3 very long discussions about WINE. Some people here think that it's a bad idea, some do, and it's a very heated subject for some reason.
