Yeah, I started looking on reddit, dota2.com, steamdb, google news but haven't found anything. I was quite disappointed.

DOTA2 is a valve-game based on the sourceengine - right? If so, it's very likely to be ported. L4D2, was a long way underway before it was finally released.

I know there is a high possibility that it will be ported to linux but I thought it was next week :D

There is no Dota 2 for Linux/MacOS, yet.

First Valve will reliece Portal 2 and Left for Dead 2.
I think in the next 2 Month.

Hopefully we'll get releases I'm pumped for a real L4D2 release.

L4D2 works fine imho. There's some inputlag on highest settings. Haven't played it for a while, so I don't know if it's out of beta yet. But I blame X for inputlag :P

Indeed, it is quite annoying having 2 L4D2 installs (1 for wine (to play with friends) and the native one). Or I should get a bigger harddrive :P

lol... I've made a troll post about Dota 2 yesterday with a link to Rick Astley, however Steam doesn't accept link shorteners like tinyurl, so I gave up and deleted that post. Seems that troll worked anyway. cool :D

Dota 2 for Linux has been confirmed at least 4-6 times now by Valve, but they also said that that would be the last game for them to port. Just be patient, the game hasn't even been released yet and it's not on Mac either.

Being that it's their newest game, it probably will be the last one ported. At this point I'm not sure if they're holding off on the Mac and Linux ports until the official release, or the other way around.

be patient? there is not enoug patience in the world to wait for valve to do something. half life 3 anyone?

If there are patient users out there, then it's us Linux users: Waiting for...

* ATI Open source drivers
* Dota2
* Wayland
* Ubuntu Phone/Tablet/for Android
* Steam Box
* Many Linux game ports
* OpenGL 4.x
* Mesa 9.2

I'm sure there is more ... :)
