You can add "Steam Libraries" where install more games on steam preferencies. When you config this folder, at the moment when you click "isntall" a game under Steam, Steam will give you to choose between primary Steam folder or the alternative folders that you have configured.
(a prefix "." mean hidden)
if you are curious you can have more details from the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
ls -la ~
the "l" flag means make a list, "a" flag means show me all entries, also those with prefix "."
~ means "your home directory", the terminal open there so wouldn't be necessary
ls -l ~/.steam
will show you the content of .steam and where the targets of the symlinks
