I did notice some improvement if I ran "watch sudo iwlist wlan0 scan" in a terminal while playing but eventually the stutters resumed anyway.
If you do, the multicore option in advanced graphics settings may be the problem.
MTR is network diagnosting tool (mix of traceroute and ping), you can check if you got any packet loss and at which hops.
It's installed by default in Ubuntu, but in case you don't have it, look for mtr-tiny in software center or type in terminal:
EDIT: If your framerate drops below tickrate in Source Engine games (it's 33 by default in tf2 I think and 66 in cs:s... tho it may be set to 66 by server or you), you may lose packets which results in lag, heavy stuttering and increased ping.
I have multicore disabled already. And no, nothing wrong in training mode not stutter. I did the MTR command to one of my favourite servers as directed and nothing seems to glare out from the statistics. I had 7% packet loss at first but then it smoothed out to 3% doesn't seem bad enough to account for the stutter.
EDIT:Tomorrow I will be setting up a spare router I have lying around with dd-wrt in client mode and connect vie wire to it to maybe eliminate the NIC I am using.
Now that I am bypassing my ASUS PCE-N15 Wifi NIC and the linux kernel's rtl8192ce drivers I am experiencing near perfect connectivity in TF2. There are litte baby jitters and they are few and far between, something I consider characteristic of WiFI.
I will try to compile the Vendor driver (ASUS) and the manufacturer's driver (RealTek) soon and compare their performance. If anyone with this issue has a spare router lying about I fully reccomend giving DD-WRT a try at least untill there is a solution to the poor performance of the rtl8192ce
I currently am using the Realtek drivers compiled for the RTL8192CE (or RTL8188, whatever it wants to call itself). Seems better than what "firmware-realtek" gives me in Debian, but still people will accuse me of teleporting and other nonsense.
Might as well go for the actual ASUS ones at this point. Also, using Liquorix 3.7 kernel but doubt it matters given the obvious culprit.
