X3 Linux Beta Sign up

There's a new thread on egosoft's site (X3 developers) for joining the beta test of X3R. Found it on reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/16blmc/egosoft_starts_signup_for_x3_linux_beta_l3_devnet/)

You'll need to have a forum account, and setup your DEVNET membership, which is in the user profile section.

do you perhaps need an specific user level to access the thread?

I believe you have to sign up for the devnet in your profile before you can see the thread. At first, I wasn't able to see the thread after doing that, so they might be doing something manually. After a while, I was able to get in.

To sign up for the devnet, click on your username on the top of the page under Profile, then scroll to the bottom and click yes near: "I want to participate in the X-DEVNET". Then you should be able to fill out some more information and click submit.

You should see User-Level: 3 under your username in the profile section on the top right of the page after doing this.

yes, i already did that, i just wondered if you had to sign the NDA and get a higher security level. Anyway, could you post a screenshot of the thread?

ok, it works for me now. seems like you have to wait like 30 min for the system to 'register' your dev status. it's still odd that you get a misleading 'thread not existent'-error when you don't have the sufficient rights :(

Ah ok nice! Hope to see the beta start soon, interested to see the game and their others (hopefully in the future) working on Linux well
