HELP HELP
why do I get this ( This version of steam is currently in closed beta login with an enrolled account to continue ) I am a long time Steam user and I run Linux Mint Cinnamon 14

Where did you download the Deb file? My guess is it may be a out of date package

There is an open beta out there, you can download it from http://media.steampowered.com/client/installer/steam.deb, and the current free open game is Team Fortress 2.

Remember, the current distro they're developing the Client is Ubuntu, but people got it running on other non-debian systems.

Search this forum for your system, maybe it can also run in it.

The closed beta was basicly Ubuntu only, with he opening of the beta that changed.

thats odd..
have you tried removing and reinstalling it?
Another way I can think of is launching steam with "steam steam://open/games" and then check for updates in the steam client itself (steam->check for steam updates)

its ok now I installed it on a second computer then copyed the steam folder from the docs to other computer and it updated and now work :) :)
