If they'd port Borderlands 2 to Linux, I'd give it a try though.
More if you have support for linux you do not need to buy it again: D
but I can say that I will buy the DLC for the game if it comes to linux :)
Currently there's mostly competitive, and Indie games.
Due to the focus on Linux gaming, more and more new graphics engines gains native Linux support, which means less work and hassle, when it comes to making a Linux release, which I believe we're now seeing the effects off. Look at all the kickstarter projects that has Linux support as a stretch goal, look at all the interest that's been sparked since Valve started their Linux endeavors.
I really doubt though, that Mac will ever attract a proper gaming enthusiast market, but I do believe that many gamers sticks to Windows due to lack of games on Linux.
I LAN from time to time with friends, and it's at those times I buy a whole lot of games, but all the good co-op games are Windows only. Soon, I'll start luring my friends to the Light side. The side with no bloatware, free software, great customizability, easy updating and maintainance of the system, and so on. But not until I'm certain that they're not bored, so they switch back to Windows, as I've done so many times before.
Currently I only keep Windows around for Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, and maybe I'll have a go at ESO at some point, but everything else I use on a daily basis, is available on Linux, though I reaeaeaeally look forward to proper adoption of Wayland. Gray fills, and tearing really bothers me.

It's easily on my TOP 3 list of games that I would like to get ported.
But the Twitter comment doesn't sound very promising.

So I take it as it ain't gonna happen. Not for Borderlands 1/2/Pre-Sequel anyways. Maybe for Borderlands 3 should the Steamboxes/SteamOS be readily available and doing well by that time.
