That's pretty interesting. Especially considering the upcoming Borderlands prequel.

Now go, my minions! Go and show your interest on twitter, as detailed in the link above.

hell yeah :D it would be great if they port borderlands 1 too. ^^
Well, I played the first Borderlands years ago and, well, I just wanted it to be over asap. It's really not for people who don't like repetetive games.
If they'd port Borderlands 2 to Linux, I'd give it a try though.

Good borderlands is being developed for linux and that? Not intendi well> DGood borderlands is being developed for linux and that? Not intendi well> D ?
That will be nice if it comes to fruition, though I'm kinda wary of announcements not followed by any action regarding Linux ports by now

I already own it , damn , I would buy it again if I could. +1 linux support

More if you have support for linux you do not need to buy it again: D

yah , the point was to support them brining it to linux , if i already have it in my library of course i can play it , but it doesnt not provide incentive for them to port the title.

but I can say that I will buy the DLC for the game if it comes to linux :)

It would be nice if they did port it to Linux. Then, my friends would finally play the game.

More I think the OS steam things will change a little or a lot.
Linux needs some good cooperative games like Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, MMO's and the likes.
Currently there's mostly competitive, and Indie games.

Yes you are right but I think that Diablo can be it takes to be not of the steam platform and on the other you falous, I believe this will change with the arrival of SteamOS. As always the valve must have an ace in the hole, it would not invest many Obamas (dollars) So in a system that is not well regarded staff. So I do believe that most of the great games that will steam rather to the Linux platform. And hopefully it will be released so be not as they have done (when it happens) A game will be released there and only released for Windows and after 6 months or more Sai him to linux, and so much more boring hope this change: D with the arrival of SteamOS CS and go which will open the eyes of many companies.
I think that once there's an established gaming market on Linux, the games will see Linux releases at the same time as Mac releases. I mean, Mac is still a relatively small part of the gaming market, and Linux is still just, what, a third or so, of what Mac currently is.
Due to the focus on Linux gaming, more and more new graphics engines gains native Linux support, which means less work and hassle, when it comes to making a Linux release, which I believe we're now seeing the effects off. Look at all the kickstarter projects that has Linux support as a stretch goal, look at all the interest that's been sparked since Valve started their Linux endeavors.
I really doubt though, that Mac will ever attract a proper gaming enthusiast market, but I do believe that many gamers sticks to Windows due to lack of games on Linux.
I LAN from time to time with friends, and it's at those times I buy a whole lot of games, but all the good co-op games are Windows only. Soon, I'll start luring my friends to the Light side. The side with no bloatware, free software, great customizability, easy updating and maintainance of the system, and so on. But not until I'm certain that they're not bored, so they switch back to Windows, as I've done so many times before.
Currently I only keep Windows around for Borderlands 2, Diablo 3, and maybe I'll have a go at ESO at some point, but everything else I use on a daily basis, is available on Linux, though I reaeaeaeally look forward to proper adoption of Wayland. Gray fills, and tearing really bothers me.
Gearbox can put their games were the sun does not shine.

I would love to see a Linux native Borderlands 2.
It's easily on my TOP 3 list of games that I would like to get ported.

But the Twitter comment doesn't sound very promising.
Randy Pitchford said don't get our hopes up.

So I take it as it ain't gonna happen. Not for Borderlands 1/2/Pre-Sequel anyways. Maybe for Borderlands 3 should the Steamboxes/SteamOS be readily available and doing well by that time.
