Steam for Linux

Steam for Linux

(SteamOS) Linux? exclusive title's
i just to like to let all of you know i been in develment of some Games, for SteamOS, the last 90 to 120 days i been working hard to find out the best game engine, for them, i done a lot of Testing, and, building a demo, Etc, for the Linux games, and i chosen Unity3d, it was the most eazy to me for to develop, on as a solo developer, i'm going to try and launch 1 to 3 games this year for SteamOS, and, i'm going to try and make the games "time based exclusive's" to SteamOS, (it's going to be hard for me supporting more then SteamOS) if i can get passed GreenLight, why i'm posting this here is i'm also going to try and, only support all major Linux's down the road, if i can but any ways ill post back a Demo once i think it's ready :) the 1st game will be a FPS if all go's well

i plan to support the Steam Game Pad, Xbox 360 Game Pad, and PS4 Game Pad, Base keyboard and mouse.

Down the road i also plan to support, Debian, Arch Linux, Ubuntu, (non-mir based) OpenSUSE, Fedora, Etc

Also post back here what type of game you like on SteamOS and Linux

i'm in early development and working a full time job on the side ;) so lets hope i get them out this year :)

What systems must my game run on?
To remain in Steam Greenlight and qualify for distribution via Steam, your game must at least run on a Windows PC. You can also be developing for any other platform you like, but we are only able to support PC, Mac and Linux releases at this time.
I hope you continue your endeavour through other channels. I hope you consider open-source development as well.

i have running on Windows and Linux but opensource has its ups and downs (Legal) also i'm time based atm i have all the tools i need and i'm using opensouce for a lot of my development as well they're only 2 things i need for development 1 Windows or Mac OSX and Unity3D that are not opensource
My advice: Concentrate. Don't support many distros, but SteamOS and the base Valve (AFAIK) is providing. It will probably work on other distros then as well and if not, people probably will make it work. You don't need to do open source. And IMHO one game would be great enough.
