And as expected, the apt-get install steam showed up with the same error
Solved by doing "sudo apt-get install steam", which I should probably have tried first.
tried that, got an "Unable to locate package steam"
So i looked a bit farther around, and found a thread at http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/0/540744934481465247/ that listed
tried step one, failure
Yeah I just noticed that too. Maybe some major update on steam client for linux?
Can confirm that I got the same error but
worked fine.
Regards
K
For now, I was just trying out Linux for the first time. I will just have to jump back to Windows to get back on that sweet summer sale action.
I even tried getting the latest version from:
http://repo.steampowered.com/steam/pool/steam/s/steam/
but the issue is the same, steam crashes on startup.
worked for me
