That's cool. I didn't. I happened to have a look at the store search page.

My library shows 175 Penguin approved games, so 325 to get yet! ;)

unfortunately Sid Meyers Civilization 5 and Tropico 5 art yet on the list. Tropic 5 is promised by Kalypso to be ported to Stem for Linux but as yet no ETA on that one. Civilization Beyond Earth is also promised by Fireaxis to be on Steam for Linux later.

How about if Steam for Linux adds a customized version of wine to Steam for Linux so we can play any Windows games that are not yet released on Steam for Linux?

I'm opposed to it since it would hamper efforts to bring native Linux games to our platform; at the sametime Valve endorsing WINE might trigger a reaction from Microsoft since you gotta admit WINE is borderline illegal.

WINE is not illegal!!!
It is not even close to being illegal.
Do not spread false news.

512 as of 7th of june.
If this trend keeps up, the Linux library will hit more than 2300 games in less than a year :P

While "WINE is not an emulator", it does seem like it. I mean it creates services that mimics a Windows environment.
It may not exactly be an emulator, but I'm certain Microsoft has enough resources to create a legal hell for anyone who backs WINE to a degree that might threaten MS's position. They may not be able to win, but I doubt any distributer is going to take the chance, and has the resources to take on MS.

There are actually 779 games on Linux. The number 512 only takes into account Single Player games and uncategorised games. Therefore, I think the formula for the grand total of Linux games is:

Games + Multiplayer Games + Cross-Platform Multiplayer + Co-op Games.

Nope, multiplayer and stuff is part of the fivehundred something, they're not adding up.
They're still games...

I think there's irregularity in how the games are categorised, but ok...
