Steam for Linux

Steam for Linux

Software KVM for Linux AND Windows (compatible protocol for both control)
I currently use Mouse Without Borders for a Software KVM of controlling windows but I need one that is platform agnostic (standard protocol between all platforms, why no open standard on this?). Also the ability to drag and drop files across platforms would be nice (clipboard is not mandatory, its annoying sometimes).

Synergy used to be free now it is commerical :(

Anybody got ideas for one? i wish either my Windows or Linux to be the main KM but must be able to control Linux AND Windows, not just Windows to Windows or Linux to Linux, but also Windows to Linux and vica versa.

Chrome remote desktop.
Works on arm based chromebooks too, and you can even export headless graphical sessions from linux servers to your chromebook. I am always amazed that my xterms are faster using chrome remote desktop on my arm chromebook, than natively on an AMD/ATI R9-270 (very very bad 2D on ATI due to lack of support for glamour. Hmmm, maybe I should just disable the 2D "hardware" acceleration).
Another is x11vnc, but vnc is pretty crap. But I can look at my desktop using x11vnc on my gearvr using a vnc vr app.

My experience was the opposite, Chrome Remote Desktop was laggy and buggy, while VNC worked very well.

I would recommend VNC, since it's available in a plethora of applications for all operating systems.

VNC is no, I want software KVM.

Synergy does both platforms but it used to be open source now it went commercial.

I am looking for an alternative, similar to Mouse Without Borders.

Would be great if they standardised the protocol for software KVM's. It is just mouse positioning and button up and down.

I have a number of machines around me, i want to use those monitors, not window within windows.

If i wanted to use VNC, I would not have made this thread and asked about software KVM.

What does this have to do with steam for linux?

Secondly that software costs 10 for basic and 30 for life time pro.... Really...... People I swear.

If 10 to 30 bucks for software you need to run your setup or business, Not sure what you are using it for. Is to much maybe you need to quit working fast food.

Well, I can control steam on other machiens via it :)

Synergy was open source, also, it's buggy as heck apparently. There is no trail available.

Multiplicity 3, and a simple google search would have answered your question.

Linux too? I checked features, says Windows just.

A simple read of the OT would have explained that it's for both platforms control.

whoops missed that part you could also spend 10 to 30 bucks to just get a hardware KVM switch and forgo the software.

Hardware KVM requires cables, and switches.

However if it used vacuum tubes, well, maybe.

But, no. I also want to use the monitor (laptops mostly) on the other machines. They're on a wireless network, no cables.

KVM is only going to use the monitor you plug into the switch and or the screen from the pc you are controlling via software, unless you use xforwarding and or tight vnc.

The Software KVM's I use just send the mouse and kb and use the other montors too. I don't want hardware, I used them in the 90's, I need to see all the screens for my work, I also drag and drop stuff between them using the SKVM.

I don't want to swtich screens everytime I want to move from one machine to the other, that's daft.
