Cant start steam for linux on xubuntu 14.04

hey guys i install steam over the .deb file and if i try to start steam nothing happens i try to start it in the console then this error code is showing :

i try it it dosent worck after that i remove everything from steam and install it again from the deb in the time was removing all the things i install wine after that everything works fine i dont know if this is a bug

Maybe install curl? Probably the 32bit version.

i delet all my files from steam and reinstall it (but i dont launch it) then i install wine and whit this the most x84 deb's and after this my steam works :D

Because it is absolutely true if you have a supported distro. Otherwise you're on your own of course. Same thing applies to windows. Try to run it on Windows 95...

I have several years of experience with Linux, and while it is usually necessary to install dependencies separately, Steam installation scripts are supposed to install all the packages required to run. Somehow installing 32bit dependencies got it past those errors (even though I have a 64bit system), but it's still got a segfault.
