According to Sven from Capcom Unity, there will be a preload before the game comes out.
Folks with slow internet connection rejoice! lol

Pre-load is good, but that means the pirates will play first.:(

Thanks "wbacon"! :)

Yes, I chatted with Sven earlier today - and I didn't realize he already posted about it. ;-)

Well I must preface this by stating nothing's 100% guaranteed, but rest assured both the dev team and QA folks are working around the clock to make this happen. There are still lots of last-minute checks the teams have to go through. It's going to be very close.

That being said, we completely understand the pain and agony of waiting for a game to finish downloading, especially on the day of launch. The last thing we want to do, however, is pre-load a build that's either broken or incomplete. Not fun if you have to redownload especially when the payload is over 16GB.

There is one more good news I'd like to share with the community. The seven EXTRA MODE maps will be included in the PC version for all customers. You will not pay extra for these.

Those are some great news: possible pre-load and all extra maps for free, simply amazing.

Thanks again, :D

Wait, you mean we get the 7 extra Mercs maps for free? That's awesome.

Thanks for always delivering the good news Wbacon!
If those are the Mercs maps, I'm sold even more. You guys are doing a great job on the PC release of this.

can i change Mercs mode BGM ?
Greatly Appreciate the info you have given guys! Although, I do wish we had the ability to pre-load the game in any area of the PC, my :C is filled up and doesn't give me the option to switch during pre-load. But, if there is a way. I wouldn't mind someone telling me :)

All the extra mode DLC maps can be used in The Mercenaries and any multiplayer mode so yeah.

I don't quite understand why you can't only preload the static content that isn't going to change (I would imagine all the textures and maps for everything other than the L4D2 content is finalized at this point) and deliver any additional content later? I confess to not knowing anything about how the MT framework structures files, so maybe that isn't easily workable.

Thanks again for doing such a good job on the PC version, and tell Capcom to do a port of Dragon's Dogma for PC while they're at it. I'd definitely buy it again to be able to play with solid framerates. :P

Definetly: everything related to textures, music and enviroments shouldn't reflect severe changes. They could simply upload them for us, and everything else related to coding, executables and programming can be uploaded at last, as they can suffer last-time changes.

It's not often you see companies put so much effort into their game. Keep up the great work Capcom.
