Hmm, after giving this much thought, i think i tend to agree with this random unknown chap - BEST GAME EVA!!!!111
Do i get a developer tag too?
Edit - yes i do!
Both of these are clearly the most objective and unbiased reviews of the game i've ever seen. Was that an unnecessarily redundant statement of how clearly objectively unbiased they are?
You bet it was.
On a more serious note, i'd say whether you buy this game would depend entirely on what aspects of missing gameplay you can deal with and whether you already own Gnomoria. For instance, Towns lacks the ability to replace farmable land once you've dug it up. This means you have to be very careful not to destroy grassy areas that you may need for farming purposes later. It also lacks a proper way to equip your heroes with gear that will keep them alive as they delve deeper into the dungeon.
Towns does have quite a bit of content though and it has only been getting more as time has gone on. You'd probably get a better idea of whether this is a game for you by watching some youtube videos and playing the demo than you'll ever get from anyone here on the forums though. We could talk about positives and negatives until the end of time but how much they'll matter to you is something you can only truely discover from experience.
I can haz towns for 1,13 euro in steam walletz?
If that is not what floats your boat. DO NOT BUY. Simple, eh?
Indeed. A little too simple i'd say. Just liking the concept behind this game is no guarantee you'll like this game just as much as not generally liking this game concept is no guarantee you'll hate this game.
I would not call this game a "MUST BUY" by any standards, but I would say that if you're a huge fan of town management games and have always been looking for one that provides you with the freedom of no set goals and you're forgiving with missing/broken elements of gameplay then this one MIGHT be good for you. Say what you like about the game but there's no question that it isn't perfect.
Being as gnomoria was mentioned, I would say that I like towns more than I like gnomoria.
But, that is also a personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
Definately watch some lets plays and tutorials on youtube! :)
