Hi guys, seeing a number of repeated threads happening in the forum, wanted to start this thread to keep all the answers in one place:

A daft oversight, I left in some test code, uninstalling and reinstalling the game through steam will solve this bug.. just patched it.

Game is rendered offscreen on Linux systems with multiple displays
This is, unfortunately, a bug with Unity, the engine used to make the game. As such, there is no easy solution within the game. There are workarounds, which work for Unity developed games (the example used is Rochard, but it should also work with my game)

Thanks to those in the forums who found this solution. I hope that this bug will eventually be fixed by Unity, and I can roll out a patch to sort it out permanently.

Game crashes intermittently with "Fatal error in gc: GetThreadContext failed" error in Windows
This is, again, a Unity bug I'm waiting on them to fix. It is, apparently, largely caused by conflicts with specific anti virus software. There are two known solutions:

- Switch the game to Windows XP compatibility mode (google the solution for your specific OS)
- Switch off the antivirus software causing the conflict, or whitelist the game. Whitelisting does seem to work in most cases, but not all.

I hope those clarifications help. I will continue to check in on the community for bugs, and try and solve them as I find them. Thanks for your patience, it's massively challenging being a one man band, and the support and respect that the Steam community continues to show me with their bug reporting has been awesome. How do you START the game? The arrow keys move the cursor up and down, but there is no input from the ENTER key, and I have to alt-tab out to close the program.

Hello. Thanks for tips for this bug GetThreadContext. I'm using Windows 8 and avast! Free Antivirus 8.0.1489 and I'm getting this error every 5 minutes.
I will try out those tips. This is really amazing game.

Just press space instead of enter ;-)

The fix for Rochard is *almost* a fix for Thomas Was Alone. The trouble is that it fully works for Rochard because Rochard gives me a lot of size options, while Thomas Was Alone only gives me the highest one, in this case 3200x1080. That's the combination of a 1280x1024 screen and a 1920x1080 screen. This makes two problematic things happen when I have it fullscreen: it's either too big for the screen and I only see part of it (when I change the fullscreen setting in the options from windowed to fullscreen) or it looks squished with bad artifacts and the like (if I have it in windowed mode and try to change the resolution setting, which does not actually change because there's only one resolution available). Whichever one of those two I do, it remembers the setting when I restart the game. Anyway, the problem would go away if the game offered me a range of the possible resolutions I can use, which includes 1920x1080.

Thats exactly how I felt about the this fix when I saw the pause-menu the first time :D

This game has also a control bug on the Windows platform. Very often my rectangle was sliding over the surface without touching the gamepad stick. 90% of my game deaths are related to this unstable control behavior.

Hello Steam Community,
I have no idea if I'm the only one with this issue, because noone has ever mentioned it before. The problem: I run the game, but even before the game starts (or conf screen comes up), I get "thomaswasalone.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error. Although I can run the version downloaded from HumbleBundle site perfectly. Maybe it's a Windows process that interferes with the game. Anyone else encountered this?

360 controller?

I realized when playing with mine that the 360 controller doesn't have a built-in deadzone. Shoddy design by MS. Not sure if you can adjust the deadzone in Windows, but you can Google to find out.

If you can, try a deadzone of about 6000.

Yes, Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller. Maybe it's really related to this device.

:( I have got same problems with crushing game. I have already tried your issuses - like turn off avast and also changed comatiblity to XP pack ( I am on win7) . But game isnt still working and I am sad and dissapointed, because I want to play :'(

I think I may have found another way around the crash. I don't know if it is exactly the same for you guys, but whenever I'd crash was when I was using the q and e buttons to switch between characters.

I only realized this because last night I had managed to get to the part where there are lots of characters in the level so I started using the number keys to swap between them, and I managed to get through most of the game without crashing, I actually quit of my own volition instead of stopping when it crashed even. So try using the number keys? Maybe that'll work for you guys too.

Hi guys. First of all: Sorry my english! I'm a non english speaker. I hope you can helpme cuz i want to play this game so bad. I have a lot of games but i have this issue only in "thomas was alone" and "cargo commander".
When i enter the game, automatically the options selection move to the upper one. If i move the cursor down, it moves again to the upper area. If i start a game, the "character" moves automatically to the left. If i hold right arrow moves right, and if i release it, it moves left alone again.
I have no gamepad plugged. Only a Logitech G19, Logitech G600 and Logitech G930. Same thing happens exactly the same way in "cargo commander". I'm getting so mad because i can play a lot of games without any problem and i really wanted to play "thomas was alone" since i first saw the trailer.
