"Finish the day"...?

So when you go to the navigator, it says you have to end your day by doing one of three things.
-Finish the day
-Die
-Use the button below.

I normally end days by using the mentioned button but is there another way to finish a day without going to the navigator? I assume it's going to bed like the tutorial had you do, but I can't seem to find a way to do that.

Just go out in space and don't come back in.

Yeah. That's dying. That's one of the other two ways. I'm trying to figure out the "first" way. A way besides "dying" and using the navigator's "end the day" button.

There is a self-destruct button on the repair station on the bottom floor. Maybe that?

Try to travel and if it's a work day you can click finish the day.

So you're saying there's no difference between the first option and the third option?

Given the fact that the bed doesn't exist anymore(at least in the last version) i believe it is.

Okay, so we all agree that there's only 2 ways to end the day: Dying or the button in the navigator.

Well, actually after 12 container waves or so, there will be no containers left anymore and the work day will be done (you can try it easily by switching on and off the magnet, pulling and repelling wave after wave).

So, just to be clear... there's no actual benefit to voluntarily ending the day, right? You might as well just push on until you die.
