That GT 740M is weak, but your resolution is low enough it should be okay. You should be able to play at medium settings I would think.

Well rule of thumb is the m counterpart of a gfx card is much weaker than the desktop counterpart, so naturally my deduction skills tell me it will run like crap.

That's not what I meant. It's not acurate. It tells people they'll run a game fine and it won't boot up and vice versa.

Why are you stuck on 60fps? Many people are fine as long as they are above 30fps. It will all be depending on what the OP likes. Staying above 30ps is perfectly fine on single player campaigns, but not acceptable for multi-player where 60+fps is needed. I see no reason the OP would not love the game performance he will get on medium setting during the single player campaign. If he wants to play multi-player then yes lowering to a tweaked low setting will be better.
