Strange flickering at 1080p
For some reason whenever i play at 1080p i get a strange flickering in the trees mostly whenever i turn my head, It's only at 1080p this happens any other resolution it is fine. I'm playing on a 1080p 32inch t.v. currently I don't know if it's my display that's messed up or some setting. Current GPU is a 980 but also had the problem with my 770, anyone know what might be up with this? Any help is appreciated thank you.
Quick edit it actually just gets less noticable at 1600x1050 but still does it, at 1600x1024 it stops completely.

Sounds like an out of date driver, or maybe your TV has a slow response time. Mine is 2ms & it works great. 5ms is kind of a minimum. 8ms or more is too slow, & can cause the problem you are having. What response time does your TV have? What driver version are you using?

What kind of flicker is it? Like dots, artifacting, ect. Could be a driver issue, but I remember having a black texture flicker from having my SSAO method set to HBAO or HDAO and just changing it to SSAO fixed the problem I was having.

Driver version 344.16, Couldn't even begin to tell you the response time to be honest.
Dunno if this helps but i don't think it runs quite at 60hz i tink it's really like 59hz but yea.

Ummm..tough to explain might have to make a video of it but it's basically everytime i move my mouse to look the trees mainly flicker, imagine a strobe light just flickering on and off really fast just flashing. and as i said it's only when i move my mouse to look and only at 1600x1050 up to 1080p, And already tried chaning to SSAO didn't help.
I'll see about geting a video for you guys to see.

So here's something i made a video of it using shadowplay and while watching the video you can't see the flickering, so that leads me to believe it is my t.v.,but this is the only game that does it any idea what it might be?

The only way to really find out is to hook up to a different display & see if it still happens. Considering you are using a TV instead of a monitor it could be the display's response time causing your problem. Strange it only happens on this one game.

Another thing to consider is that your card is so new that nVidia just hasn't had enough time to work the bugs out yet. So far there has only been 1 driver released for your GTX 980. I expect this problem you are having could just go away with one of the future driver updates for your card. It normally takes 3 to 6 months before new hardware gets enough driver updates to be considered truly refined.

You should make report to nVidia if it still happens when using a different display. Try using a differnt display first.

The monitor is not going to isolate the trees from the rest of the screen, I haven't played for a while...is there a 'draw distance' option in menu?

...just had a quick play, set everything to max, couldn't see any flickering. what CPU are you using? (It's the CPU what draws the world, not the GPU)

Intel I7-4790k Usually overclocked to 4.5Ghz but already tried it stock still the same. And yea haven't found anything on google of people who have the same problem, Main problem is mine won't show up when i use something like shadow play to try to record. But i haven't messed with it the past week or so, But at this point i think it might be a corrupt file somewhere or something that was just not correctly downloaded, will have to try verify game cache again.

Also while i say the trees it's just the most noticable when you look at the trees, I would say it's most likely the whole thing you just really see it when you turn your head while looking at the trees.

*EDIT* Also don't actually have a different display readily available so at the moment if it is the display can't really find out anyway.

Your PC is definitely up to spec! I'm just wondering, I was after a small portable LED TV/Monitor for my portable ITX rig. I went to PCWorld and told them I wanted a 1080p TV/Monitor for gaming & USB film play, at first they sold me a set and they insisted it ticked all the boxes, when I got back it displayed a 1080p screen, but it was 720p native and it was terrible for gaming at 1920x1080. So I took it back and exchanged it for a slightly more expensive Samsung 22'' this does produce a true 1080p screen and works well for gaming.
Just check that your TV is true 1080p not 1080i or 720p (A lot will say 1080p ready/compatible)
Best way to know is set your desktop window to 1920x1080 and see if your icon text is clear & flicker free.
