At that point save your settings and close the program. Start up Trials and you should hear a Bing noise, and it should work.
I use it for most of my newer controller-enabled games, since I use an old PS2 wireless controller with USB adaptor. :)
Edit: If x360ce doesn't work, there's always Joy2Key / JoyToKey. That makes keyboard and mouse movements to a controller. Not as nice, but can work in a pinch.
But I keep waiting for the release, maybe something "patch-like" would appear then. If not, I'll buy a new Controller :D
Hence why I love x360ce; it makes the program think you have one.
Here's the program I was talking about. https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
This next part is the same as my post above but more detailed {
Download x360ce.App-2.1.2.190.zip (EDIT: See my new note at the bottom), then extract it. Then move x360ce.exe to the Trials game folder, the same folder with the Trials exe file (this is important, or it won't work), which is Steam \ steamapps \ common \ TrialsPC \ datapack.
Make sure your controller is connected then run x360ce.exe at its new location and it will want to create x360ce.ini. Hit yes, and then it will want to create "xinput 1_3.dll" so hit yes again. It should say New Device Detected and a green arrow points toward "Search automatically for settings." Hit next and once it's done hit finished. A graphic of an xbox360 controller should appear; move your sticks and buttons to make sure they're mapped properly (they'll flast green on the graphic).
}
Then just save and exit. If something didn't map properly, like there's a setting on your controller you need to hit to use analog sticks, just delete x360ce.ini and "xinput 1_3.dll" and start again.
The only time I've had problems with the program not working was when I placed x360ce.exe in the wrong folder, so pay close attention to that, and maybe try moving it (and the files it creates) around.
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Okay, 2.1.2.190 is the latest version but I'm having a weird issue with it. My dpad isn't working properly on it. The latest version I use which I know works perfectly fine for my stuff is x360ce.App-2.0.2.163. Found here: https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/detail?name=x360ce.App-2.0.2.163.zip&can=1&q=x360ce.App-2.0.2.163
THEN it should work. Sorry about that.
Then I downloaded JoytoKey, worked perfectly.
But I really don't understand why there is no support for a Logitech controller, it's, beside the xbox, the standard controller for pc.
But the Beta right now is a really bad pc-port
That's really weird. The only time I've not had that window/tab appear is when my controller isn't hooked up. When your controller is hooked up, and you go to "View Devices and Printers" (you can just type that into "Run" in any version of windows), does your controller show up? If not, try connecting it to a different USB slot. Sometimes controllers don't like USB Hubs, and only like being plugged into the back of a computer directly into the motherboard.
I don't mean to make this complicated, just trying to save people money. : /
@Dani
At what point did you have an error when following the instructions above?
JoyToKey / Joy2Key does work (along with xPadder), but since it's just mapping keyboard presses to the gamepad, you do lose some precision.
Yep, my Controller is connected, and windows shows that it is connected. I even tested every single button, every worked perfectly. I really appreciate your, and everybody else's help! :) But I think im going to wait for the release of the game, and maybe I'll buy another gamepad. I'll see what I'm going to do. But thanks for you help buddy's! :)
it just didn't detect my controller, followed all the instructions.
motionjoy the same.
What i really don't understand is, that there is no support for logitech stuff. Every Pc game that I own and that can be played with a gamepad supports them
And you tried my suggestions to Bro-Madmax?
I've never had that issue with any of my 3 different controllers before. Sorry you're having problems with it. :/
