Half Life 2 Freezing

i just baught orange box, skyrim and arma 2. All work perfectly fine high graphical settings no problems. Ive been wanting to play half life 2 for such a long time. Then now whenever i play for about 10 15 mins the game will just freeze and then i have to restart my computer. Sometimes the computer just restarts itself when i play half life 2. Why does my computer hate half life 2? please help
