HELP! THE ERRORS!!!

My Sister is having problems with HL2, It first Started with GMOD, There were ERRORS in the skybox. Then we tried to Play Synergy for The First Time, Almost Everything was a ERROR, Even some NPCs were ERRORS. so I asked if my sister actually downloaded HL2, she said yes and I have even checked, I told her to play HL2 for a while and she still experianced The ERRORS... if you guys had this proplem before and you solved it, please tell me your solution so I can help my sister. I dont know what to do except for this, Contact steam by going to the steam support page, they should be able too help you very easily with these games
