Xbox 360 Controller Improperly Mapped
I'd really like to play Proteus with the Xbox 360 wired controller, but unfortunately all of the buttons are improperly mapped.

On the left analog stick, left is walk forward, right is walk backward. On the right analog stick, left is look down, right is look up. Pressing left trigger even once makes the view spin perpetually to the left, unless held down again whereon the view spins right. (Presumably the reverse happens if you press the right trigger first.)

Menus also partially don't behave as you'd expect, with no discernible 'Accept' button, and the same left trigger problem.

Unplugging the controller and plugging it back in did not stop the constant spinning, and only disabled any input from it.

Had a look at this post

but it did not prove helpful.

I'm running the Linux version of the game (Ubuntu 12.04).

Just reporting this, as I heard this controller is supposed to work with this game out-of-the-box. Unless there is some simple enough solution I can perform.

Let me say, I had 0 problems with the button mapping. Running Windows 7x64 so perhaps it's a linux related problem.

Hi. I had a problem with the controller on my mac, and I followed the instructions from the following post: http://www.visitproteus.com/forum/index.php?topic=107.msg1777#msg1777

after that everything works fine
