Just a Little Curiosity

Once - and only once - I came across a humanoid looking guy at night at some point. He was dark and had a lot of little lights at his feet. I tried to follow him, but he was a bit too fast for me and eventually disappeared behind the very big tree. (After, there were a lot of those fox-like ghosts appearing - don't know if it's related to him.) Has anyone caught up with this guy? I'm just wondering if it's possible to do that. I'm not sure how I found him or what I did to cause him to appear, but I keep looking for him again.

Im pretty sure everythings randomly generated, so there will little chance to spot it again.

I don't think that's quite the case. There are a lot of things that seem to depend on where you go at a certain time and the like, though I might be mistaking correlation for causation. But there are definitely some things like that (like the stars going wacky the first time you go to the mountaintop statues at night) and there does seem to be some set progressions for a lot of things, like the creatures which have different 'morphs' as time goes on.

Also, when I was chasing this guy, what struck me is that he didn't just flee straight from me, like those little things that pop in the rain. He seemed to specifically be leading me to the extra large tree when he went behind it and disappeared. After that, I saw more of those fox-like ghosts than usual, though that might be coincidence.

I saw him fly into the air after reaching the big tree. He flapped his wings and just dissapeared.

After "spawning" this guy multiple times I can say that there seems to be no way to follow him after he reaches the tree. I think he's simply meant to direct you there.

WarPigeon, do you have any idea what it was that 'spawned' him? Maybe avoiding the tree at a certain time (so he shows up to lead you there)?

Go to the top of the mountain with all the tribal statues at night and wait there until you see all kinds of crazy lights. When they are at full blast move a little bit, and then stand still again, if I remember correctly the lights will come down and spawn the small man, who will arrive with a "pop" sound.

I believe it has to be done during fall. It's been a while since I've done it, so if you're having trouble let me know and I'll try and post a video or guide or something.
