Is Proteus moddable?
I'm quite curious about this as I think this would be the perfect game for people to add their own elements to the world with their own sounds.

There is one thread on the forums at www.visitproteus.com about modding, and it's essentially about how weirdly the game reads and uses the .obj files. I agree with you though, there's a lot of potential if people got to modding it. Especially with that pixel art style.

I'm a sort of part time writer, and I really want to tell a story with this game, I wish I could mod T_T

thanks TK, I'm going to cut and paste something from that post you mentioned here as I find it very interesting!

The first change I would make is the ability to customize the keyboard layout. I never use WASD for movement and this layout drove me bonkers.

CaptZoey: I think you can configure it a little in the options screen. You can also play with the mouse alone, or with a gamepad.

It is pretty moddable in its current incarnation, if you want to start digging through the resources folder, it is just hard to share those mods. You could get a jump start though.

We could give the main character a gun and make afghanistan out of the Island and Terrorists out of the peaceful fauna and we have a modern shooter!

i think ive read somewhere, where steam would give the workshop access to proteus.

I do like the connectivity options. I could see this being a big hit on a tablet or portable game system where accelerometers determined what way you were facing and rumble feedback could accent certain events. Like when you touch an animal, etc. I also could see this gameplay style as a great way to pass the time on a treadmill or other fitness device.
