Proteus

Proteus

Great game, but...
First off, loving the experience this game brings with it. There is so much more to it than just wandering around, as I was expecting. I love the music, the mystery of the interactions, the portals to other islands... I ended up in one place where I was chasing around white orbs, as they flew up to the stars. That was neat. :)

But I wanted to explore more, so I swam out to sea as far as I could, and... The game just crashed. Is this a known bug? Has anyone else experienced this?

I believe there is only one island and that you were just teleporting to the other tower structures.
That wasn't the question.

And no, they were the swarms of white lights, and they took me to completely different areas, with different seasons, almost. But that isn't the point. Or the question.
I was commenting on the first part of your post, from my experience and when you said portals, the firefly ring was not the first thing that came to mind.

As for the question, I've not experienced that (actually just bought and played through it myself), though I did sail the sea for awhile at night.

I am actually just listening to the music with the game in the background right now, it's pretty sweet. And cool.
Fireflies! I didn't know what to call them. lol

The music IS the game, really. It's the driving point for exploration. And it was done very, very well. And procedurally, too! :D

But the music at night almost puts me to sleep. Too damn calming for me at 12:30 at night, after a long day. lol

I've never had the game crash when I went out to sea. But I have tried it a couple times. I usually just get to a point where I close the game voluntarily.
