I can't seem to find the original post from them regarding it, but I could have sworn I had seen that it has been disabled for now. Perhaps send over an email to their support address with the details you posted above: dennatonsupport@hotmail.com
"hey! thanks for letting us know!
we will look into it right away!
stay tuned
peace // dennis"
It seems they are now aware of it, so best to just be patient and play the waiting game :)
just got Hotline Miami with Humble Bundle 8 and freaked out as I saw the Alienware Mode :D
But then I got the same error message as host. Its been a while since the last post here... so is there any hope this will be fixed?
Im playing on an Alienware M14x R2
EDIT:
When I enable alienware in settings and quit the game I get:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object objBandCredits:
In script scrAlienWareFree:
Error in code at line 1:
external_call(global.iAlienRelease);
at position 22: Unknown variable iAlienRelease

I tried to activate it, and restart the game... didnt turn out that good.
Hey, I was also getting that problem with the same model (not sure how the hardware matches, but I suspect that the AlienFX stuff is the same). Anyway, I opened up the Alienware software to handle it and updated the FX stuff. After a restart, it started working for me.
Then I tried to update within command center to A01 (latest version), restarted and still have this problem :(
Is it possible that the game doesnt find the LightFX.dll? I tried to copy it to "System", "System32" (where it was before) and "SysWOW46" without success
Now the resolution is perfect (1600x900), but no matter if alienware is checked or not just nothing happens when I play the game. Not even an error message. The only difference is that the game crashes when I quit.
Sucks because I was excited to see it in action. Any fixes yet? I am fully updated Alienware Command Center
