Game freeze on respawn

Hello all, I had a quick scout round and can't find any problems like this one.

Games runs fine until I'm selecting a mask or die/respawn. The game will freeze and Windows will say it's stopped responding for a few seconds, though the music continues as usual, and then it starts the level/respawns up to 30 seconds later. I didn't realise it wasn't supposed to take up to 30 seconds to respawn until I complained about it to my friend, and he says it doesn't (it's super annoying when you walk into a room and die, and then it takes up so much longer to respawn than your lifespan!)

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I verified integrity of the files and did the Redist fix which is in the PC Bug Fix thread. Any other thoughts?
