Xbox Controller Stopped Working

So I bought a sweet Xbox 360 wired controller to play hotline miami, and after a few days of it working perfectly, I bought a new Razer Mouse. After that, i tried playing hotline miami with the controller and it did not work. I've checked for system updates, but my PC recognizes the controller and says its up to date. I've searched the interwebs a ton for solutuions but none work. I'm not sure if the mouse had anythig to do with it, but it stopped working after that. Its a shame because this game is the bomb but i wont enjoy it until i have my 360 controller working. Thanks for your time

Yes, there have been reports that some mouse drivers sometimes disrupt Xbox controller drivers. Have you installed the drivers coming with your Razer mouse or did you let Windows automatically install generic drivers?

i have installed Razer Synapse

Do you actually use the advanced features in your mouse driver? If not, I suggest you just use the generic Microsoft driver instead, it might solve the problem.

Have you also tried to unplug the mouse before launching the game?

ive tried unplugging the mouse. by using the microsoft thing, do you mean de-installing Synapse? I'll be willing to if i can actually play HM

Yea, if you don't use the advanced feature of your driver such as changing DPI on the fly or things like that, you can safely remove Synapse and uninstall your driver by going into Device Manager -> Mice -> Right-clicking on every mouse and doing "Uninstall". Then, replugging the mouse should trigger the automatic driver installation.
