Playing as the Dungeon Master in Local Play with the game set on Very Hard, you can farm several thousand gold coins in about half an hour. With that in mind, the pay wall for certain bundled items becomes easily dismissable. You can unlock several items after very short play sessions.
The only thing I'd say is that the game is designed to be played in DM mode. The real fun rests in tormenting three of your friends through a maze run you control. Everything else is just icing on the cake for people preferring single-team gameplay.
This is my opinion on the game. Granted, I only played for a few hours, but after seeing horrible framerate issues (going from 60 frames to 14 frames when I can run most games on high or full), averagely-fun gameplay (Playing the levels didn't grant me any real satisfaction, other than just wanting to be done with the levels), weird bugs/glitches (like a rhino coming down and blocking my path and breaking the level for my friends and I until I started walking through the air and killed some monsters they couldn't see) and having several crashes occur (several crashes to desktop, quite a few right before I finished a level), I can say I've had enough of it. If you'd like, I can come back in about a week or so, after I try the game out several more times (as, like most sensible people, I attempt to get my money's worth on games I buy even if I think they're garbage), and give my opinion. I can pretty much assure you, however, that that opinion will remain about the same.
I will say I did like playing the DM mode. It was fun messing with my friends.
Yes, I think it is my PC. Specifically, I think that the game is badly optimized to run on the hardware I have. My friends, who both have equal or more powerful rigs than I, also have issues with performance.
