This issue is not simply because of disconnecting. Many games have that issue, and I just restart the game. This is different. Thanks for any help you can provide.
In every case the pad was plugged in before starting the game.
It says pads1 and 3 are not connected, if I select pad 2 (which it thinks is connected) inputs are not recognised. I have one pad, a genuine MS Xbox wired one, which does work with everything else - no other controllers connected. It looks like you're looking into your handling of controllers form the stickied thread though, so I'll hang on and see what happens.
Hmm... Sorry, I guess I'm not in the best mood today... I hate those post too... Sorry.
(I know this is still not helpful, but the best I can think of is put it in a different USB port.)
Could it be that the game can't handle the normal xbox 360 pad software?
@Spitfire: The xbox gamepads don't center correctly. Most games (that officially support this pad) add a deadzone, as you mentioned. Try opening the system settings for the controller and you will see a deviation from 0/0. All xbox gamepads I know show this effect more or less. Funfact: 1 € gamepad from hongkong centers perferctly ;)
