xbox pad
Anyone got it working? Says Pad 1 is "in use" and doesn;t respond to input. Pad works OK in other titles.

Try restarting the game and make sure you do not disconnect any controllers while the game is running.

I got it to work by selecting gamepad 2. Seems to play worse with the gamepad than keyboard/mouse though.

I have 4 xbox 360 wireless controllers. All work perfectly with other games. All are on before I start the game. It says that controller 1 is not connected, and that 2 and 3 are. So, if I want to play local co-op x 3... Someone has to use the mouse and keyboard. As the game states on one of the loading screens, this isn't as fun.

This issue is not simply because of disconnecting. Many games have that issue, and I just restart the game. This is different. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Nope - tried it again post reboot and still no gamepad.

In every case the pad was plugged in before starting the game.

It says pads1 and 3 are not connected, if I select pad 2 (which it thinks is connected) inputs are not recognised. I have one pad, a genuine MS Xbox wired one, which does work with everything else - no other controllers connected. It looks like you're looking into your handling of controllers form the stickied thread though, so I'll hang on and see what happens.

Still the same after today's patch.

Aaaaaaaaaaand still th same. I'm never buying a game on its day of release again. Pfft.
I have been playing with my old dusty 360 controler. And it works fine. I don't think this is the game's problem.

Thanks for your "it's fine for me" post, that's really helpful. Those kinds of posts always are.

Hmm... Sorry, I guess I'm not in the best mood today... I hate those post too... Sorry.
(I know this is still not helpful, but the best I can think of is put it in a different USB port.)

:) I've tried that (the "it's in a different port so it must be a totally different device" trick is very useful) but I think in this case it's somrething to do with how the game polls for controllers; I have seen it before, occasionally, in other titles, it's just frustrating that it'ss appeared in this one as I really looked forward to it. I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually, I just bump the topic after each patch release so that it's not forgotten.

My xbox 360 pad is working fine. though I use a microsoft cordless adapter to play with wireless controllers. me and my friends all played with pads and I never had this problem.
Could it be that the game can't handle the normal xbox 360 pad software?

I use a normal wired xbox 360 pad and it works fine so I don't think that's the issue.

My 360 controller goes nuts with this game, means it's spinning the left stick like crazy as if there was no "dead zone". Any other game works fine.

I'd like to refresh this. Tried local coop with some friends, each with a xbox 360 gamepad. But only two gamepads were recognized. Gamepads are fine in other games.

@Spitfire: The xbox gamepads don't center correctly. Most games (that officially support this pad) add a deadzone, as you mentioned. Try opening the system settings for the controller and you will see a deviation from 0/0. All xbox gamepads I know show this effect more or less. Funfact: 1 € gamepad from hongkong centers perferctly ;)
