The devs have closed their studio.
Paradox said they do have a plan for the game, but did not yet make an announcement.
Make of that whatever you want.

The game has potential, it always has. The problem is its not very accessable, setting up to play with friends can be a hastle especially when it asks you to open ports and such. Another problem being that only the host can be the DM, so you cant take turns unless you restart the server. Also joining others games does not work half the time. With too many hiccups and inconsistencies, its no wonder it never really grew.

Out of curiosity, where have you read that Paradox has plans for this game?

I could imagine it going free to play considering there are a few recent-ish F2P entries in the steam DB: http://steamdb.info/search/?a=sub&q=dungeonland

The new all access pass in the shop kind of sounds like F2P too.
