Missing executeable

I downloaded the game without any apparent errors. Whenever I attempt to start the game I get the error message, "Failed to start game (missing executeable). The so-called help does not respond. Is there a way to correct the error, or re-download? Or should I just attempt to get a refund?

I had the same problem. Norton antivirus automatically erased the executable file, as it considered it to be malicious. What I did was to verify the integrity of the files through the specific steam application. It found one file to be missing and Norton gave me a warning about a malicious file, which was the file missing. I placed an exception and it all works fine now. Also check similar threads describing how some of the program files are thought to be malicious by anti-virus programs.
