Leaderboard Hacking Issues

It seems that people are still finding new ways to hack the leaderboards. A user named TheKorn (i think this is him: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198039366835) scored over 1 billion (1,000,000,000) points in the first level of world 2. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that this isn't possible without hacking the game.

Why do they even have leaderboards in games, unless they're set to friends only they are worthless because I have never seen a game with a leaderboard that has legit scores.

Using scoreboards to compare to other people rather than friends is somewhat irrelevant. Trying to beat a friend's score makes the game more fun, but comparing worldwide is just for bragging rights that probably no one will ever care about.
