But it doesnt even tell you if you missed any gold in the retro zones!
I've been getting rewards for retro zones, but I think that's just for completing them not gold related. Could be wrong though.
You can see if you have all the retro zone golds by hovering over the level in the menu. If you've completed it without all golds then you'll have a games cartridge. If you have all golds in the retro zone, the cartridge will have a gold star on it as well.
I don't quite understand why you're complaining about the grindy achievements, they should be interesting little nods, but the focus should be on enjoying the gameplay and progression, not working towards an achievement.
I have the games cartridge as soon as I "unlock" the retro zone by entering it from a normal level, even if I never complete it.
Because grindy achievements are not interesting little nods, they're just grindy achievements.
I'm struggling to find the motivation to finish one playthrough, 120 levels or so and finding all alternate routes and treasures and stuff, finding it a bit tiresome by the start of the 4th world
Yeah, but you can aspire to get Runner 1 achievements because they are skill based, and if you do manage to get them, you'll feel like you really achieved something.
Runner 2, on the other hand, will make you feel like you wasted a whole bunch of hours for a couple icons.
Absolutely agree with that. Getting the hard achievements in Runner 2 is just a waste of time and has nothing to do with fun or skill anymore. I wish they would patch it.
