Game crashes
Every time I attempt to play a new game, it inevitably crashes to desktop after a long pause. Anyone else having this problem?

No. I suggest sending an email to support@stardock.com with your debug.err file. Go to the main website for full instructions. The game does stop responding if you click while it is loading a new game. Leaving it alone will allow it to respond once the map is done generating.

Did you uninstall the beta?

UNINSTALL the beta. Completely. That also means go into the my games\fallen enchantress directory and rename it to something else (or delete it entirely). Edit: ensuring that \program files (x86)\stardock games\FallenEnchantress is also cleaned out is a good sanity check from after the beta.

If you got your FE on Steam double check your steam folder. (unistall everything and delete folders and redownload) Yes this might take awhile but then if it doesn't pop up again you should be good.

If it still pops up support@stardock.com and also a dxdiag won't hurt too.

You playing on a laptop? I had the same issue. Had to go to NVIDA driver control, Manage 3D settings, and specify the Program Settings to the game.

Aslo run the game as administrator.

Game has crashed twice now at the same point in the tutorial, just when I am exploring the East, any ideas?

Totally removing the beta by both deleting the game through steam AND removing the c:\users\%username%\documents\my games\fallenenchantress directory before reinstalling 1.0 release on steam resolved my problem...game is running very stable now.

I have the same problem. I had the game from pre-purchase and was working fine before release.

From watching these forums and the Stardock ones....95% of the people having these crash or lockup issues are because they had the Beta nad tried installing right over it....as seen by the OP coming back and saying that fixed his problem.

If your coming to this thread LOOKING FOR HELP because your game is locking up or crashing....uninstall everything. Beta files, folders everything. Then reinstall. Also it wouldnt hurt to start Steam and game in Admin as well. Also of course the usual BS of making sure your video drivers are up to date etc etc
