Interested in the game - Convince me
So I am interested in the game but I have a few concerns after reading reviews and seeing a few discussions. What kind of game is it exactly? Is it an RTS? Is it turn based? Like Risk (I believe I saw one review say this)?

How is the gameplay?
Are there a lot of bugs as most people are saying?
Is there a single player campaign?

Very good.
No. (some see game mechanics/rules/functions as bugs, until they "get it".)
Yes.

It's like Civ 3 meets Heroes of Might and Magic. Civ style empire management, with HOMM style combat. I found it quite enjoyable, but I wish there was as much unit diversity as in HOMM.

So what game type would it be classified as? I see many people say it's a mix of risk meets civ meets HOMM.

It's definitely Turn-Based Strategy. The empire management is turn-based, the combat is turn-based. If you enjoyed either HOMM or Civ you'd enjoy it. It is a bit shallow and doesn't have the replay value of the aforementioned games, but I was stuck to it for a good 6 hours the first time I played.

Fantasy 4X.

Think Civ 5 with magic, demons and dragons but no workers as all improvements are done through cities or outposts.

As for combat, think turn based total war. You play on the big map, but fight on a small map

Holy Crap. Batcat is over 3,000 hours in the game.

Browse through the screenshots for a better idea of the game.

Civ-style in a fantasy setting with heroes and rpg quests/story. Yes there is single player.
Pros; unique, decent graphics, customizeable everything (heroes, factions, armies, cities, etc), epic quests that can make game addictive and very replayable when you start out
Cons; diplomacy is a joke, AI will cheat, repetitive once you figure out the winning formula, stardocks idiotic DRM policy
It's an ok game if you are into turn based empire building strategy. I'd wait for a sale though.
