I think that is what Big Ant was saying
The game I purchased could be played in Steam Offline Mode. Now it can't.
Sure, I was offered a refund, by the BigAnt himself. But I don't want a refund. I want the functionality that I purchased and was using. The advice to "switch off the internet after the game starts" is stupid advice when you don't have the internet in the first place at the location you're playing at.
PES 2015 has joined BigAnt in this shameful "online-only" product strategy, blatantly disregarding the needs of Steam gamers. PES 2015 was released just the other day, and does exactly the same thing. So unless Steam users keep complaining about this, expect this to be a growing trend, and Steam's Offline Mode made a mockery of.
Any game that requires the internet to load to the menu screen should have its price heavily discounted. No more than $10.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion however if you are to call me shameful and stupid then you've lost any ability to sway my opinion in any way. I can do no more for you.
Choices;
a) No protection, no games with significant investment, particularly for games like Cricket, NRL, AFL, etc.
b) Protection and a chance that those games will be made.
This is not an invite to an argument. It is a fact that if we could not stop piracy then we would not make any more games for PC at all - nada - zilch. That is my personal promise to you. I can make that promise because it is my money, my investment, not yours.
I thank the vast majority of our fans and supporters who are not so blind and understand the position we have had to take. For those that have supported us I can assure them that there are many great games to come and we will continue to update DBC14.
