Algae samples?

Does anyone know exactly where to get these? I've read that they're in Halai, but I've combed the ENTIRE town several times over, never found a single one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They're in the water, check your minimap.

I saw this thread earlier and just found some algae as I was splashing around near the locked down area of Halai, figured I'd let you know it's just kinda in the water

Their in the water but very hard to spot.
I noticed that if you have a quest for specific items they will be shown on the map with a pickup sign.
If you put the cursor on it it will tell you what is there.

Yea, I managed to find a spot that had some algae. x.x That ♥♥♥♥ was almost impossible to spot. I had to of walked right past it 4-5 times.

If you put the collection quest as active, they should appear as red hand icons on your minimap once you are close enough, but yeah, I just found 1 spot where they show up near Halai and farmed it 4 times whenever I passed by, they are hard to find.

I had the quest as active and nothing ever showed up on my map or minimap. I had to hunt that thing down with my eyes alone, and it almost drove me insane.

Yeah, it seems spotty at best. I know thats how I found my first one, the hand icon thing seems to vanish in the pernament fetch quests after you pick up one of the items, maybe its the same here or sth.

That or a bug ;) Same as Floater Meat not actually spawning from floaters, but only from garbage cans and one vendor in Henderson.

unfortunately i couldnt figure this out on my first playthrough, and resulted in 79/80 quests completed and no achie, i havta do it again, lol

you can get floater meat from floaters, its just a rareish drop and possible requires you to smash their heads

I'm at 95% now, got most achivements but never ever found an alge sample. i've never seen any pick up symbol for it, or the alge itself

If you go out the front gate of the Survivor area in Halai turn right jump over the boxes , walk down the stairs and out about 20ft look down , grab algae , save / exit , rinse and repeat till you get the 3 you need.

I also only found this one, but if you do a deadzone, or go away and come back, it will be reseted and you can catch it again!

Thanks for @Vasto Lord and @LucyXGen for help. Finally, with screenshots I found it and repeated 3 times going off the game and going back to tollect. Spend like halve of a day to find the grass -))
